After getting a window seat i turned around to look at my fellow passengers. I noticed a young girl sitting on the doorstep, talking to a man who was standing on the tracks. Her appearance was quite different, bright makeup, flower strings, strong perfume... Anyways i had nothing to do with it, so i turned on my music player and closed my eyes. After some time i heard the guard of the train shouting at her. He was telling her to sit inside. She got up reluctantly and sat inside.
The lady next to me told me that she was a bar girl and had no family of her own, her uncle had betrayed her and was forced to work in a bar.
After some time the train reached another station and the girl got down to get something to eat but did not return even after the train started. The other ladies got worried as she had left her bag in the train. When the train reached next station they searched For her in the next compartment. Someone told that she was sitting in the compartment for handicapped. But still everyone was worried For the bag.
After i reached my station i just peeked inside the compartment for disabled but didnt find the girl inside. Then i heard someone asking the guard about her. He told them she was in the next compartment. Just then i passed the guard's cabin and was shocked to see the girl inside. The guard's face darkened on seeing me. He was the same person who was forbidding her indecent behaviour earlier and now he was with her. The girl was sitting there, her hair loose, her clothes... My legs froze and I felt like shouting and telling everyone that the girl was with him. But then, the girl must be doing that to earn some money. Why should i deprive someone of their livelihood? I thought. The train started and the guard closed his cabin's door with the girl inside. The train moved ahead and it was then that i saw the tears in her eyes... The train passed away as i watched him moving close to her... To ''guard'' her or...

Mobile Mania
"Karlo Duniya Mutthi Mein" Was the slogan that flashed across the country a few years back and created a revolution. Everyone has a "mobile" in their mutthi and a sense of pride displaying it in public.
Earlier a mobile was considered as luxury which only the rich could afford. But today it has become a necessity and one cannot do without it. I have come across many funny incidents related to mobile and cant stop laughing remembering them.
One such incident was one when I was traveling in a local train. Mobiles were not common those days and only a few (fortunate) people carried it. A man entered the train speaking loudly on his mobile phone. His loud voice attracted the attention of fellow passengers. Even I was watching him (his phone) with curiosity. He was talking for around 10 -15 minutes continuously. The call rates were too high for a common man's pocket to afford a phone. Even incoming was charged at that time. I was imagining the cost it would incur for talking for such a long time. Just then…. TRING… TRING… . And His phone started ringing. How could a phone ring in the middle of a conversation…? Everyone started looking surprisingly at that man. The man was simply showing off… He was not speaking to anyone before the phone rang…
Needless to say the man quickly got down at the next station and there was a big discussion among the fellow passengers…:-)
Times have changed and a mobile is quite affordable and can be seen everywhere. Getting the latest handset is a craze among the youth. Still there are many people who are far behind this mobile revolution… Some are not able to operate it.. Some are just able to make and receive a call. But still everyone carries a mobile out of necessity.
Once I was traveling early in the morning. A lady entered carrying an expensive handset with her. She was playing music very loudly and it was quite irritating. Someone requested her to lower the volume but she ignored her. Some time later she got an SMS and wanted to reply back. She asked a girl sitting next to her to write a msg for her and reply back. She also asked her to lower the volume of the music player...:-) She said she did not know how to write and send messages... What a contradiction.... I thought she is able to play music but is not able to send a message... :-)
Then there were 2 ladies who carried mobile phones with them, and wanted to give their numbers to each others... Since both were unable to use their mobile phonebook, they simply wrote their numbers in their respective diaries. "Mala to store nahi karta yet mobile madhye number....!!!" is what they said... Funny isn't it :-) .
We see so many Kids handling these mobiles with ease and there are people who simply use it as a land line phone for making and receiving calls. Some play music on their phones so loudly that one wonders if they are aware of "headphones"... Mobiles have really become a part and parcel of our daily lives and also a source of some Fun around us...

Humanity... of the Literate and Iliterate...
I entered the ladies compartment that day only to find a fourth seat which had a tiny space to sit. I asked the three ladies who were sitting comfortably to shift a bit so that I could at least manage to sit in that space. But they seemed to be least bothered. I had no option but to adjust myself and sit in that small place or stand all the way for 2 hours. I chose the first option.
It would be possible for me to sit properly if the three ladies had shifted a little but they were not willing to listen so I pushed the lady next to me and made place for myself. The lady started shouting at me and I simply ignored her. I sat comfortably on the fourth seat. The lady had no choice and asked the other two to shift and we all sat comfortably. The lady still continued shouting and I shouted back at her and asked her to behave herself. I asked her why did you adjust yourself now when you felt uncomfortable? Why didn't you do so when I asked you to do it politely? They had no answer and then started talking about how today's youth have become undisciplined and lacked decency... "Is ignoring polite request a sign of decency?" I asked myself. "The world has really become a bad place to live in..." I thought.
I took the BEST bus to reach office and as usual it was crowded. With a bag in one hand and my purse in another hand it was very difficult for me to stand in the crowd. I stood beside a lady who asked me to give my bag to her. I told her that my bag was a bit heavy but still she took it from my hand and kept it on her lap. The lady wasn't much educated and from her appearance wasn't from a well to do family. But still she had something that was valuable... humanity... which made her much more greater than the so called educated decent lady I had met in the train.
